CHAS

CHAS is established as the market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK. It is available to suppliers (those who provide goods and services) and to organisations (buyers) looking for suitably competent suppliers.

Safecontractor

Safecontractor was initially developed as a bespoke project for a Property Management client, who wished to outsource the annual vetting of contractors on its approved list. Interest shown by other similar clients identified the potential for a standardised system that could be offered to the whole of the company’s client base.

In 1999, SupplyLine was born. After further development the product was expanded to provide web based access to its clients, and was re-branded as Safecontractor in 2003.

IWFM

The Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (Formally BIFM) is the professional body for facilities management (FM). Founded in 1993, we promote excellence in facilities management for the benefit of practitioners, the economy and society. Supporting and representing over 16,000 members around the world, both individual FM professionals and organisations, and thousands more through qualifications and training.

BICSc

The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) is the largest independent, professional and educational body within the cleaning industry with over 10,000 individual and corporate members in the UK and Internationally. Our mission is to ‘raise the status and standards of the cleaning industry, through education and accredited training.

ISO 14001 Certification

ISO 14001 enables organisations of all sizes to benefit from new business opportunities and demonstrate their environmental credentials. Recognised internationally, the standard provides a straight-forward approach to using less energy resource and reducing waste.

ISO 9001 Certification

ISO 9001 is a Quality Management Standard. It suits all organisations large or small and covers all sectors, including charities and the voluntary sector. It aims to help organisations become structured and efficient.

OHSAS 18001 British Standard

OHSAS 18001 is a British Standard, rather than an ISO and is designed to work alongside UK health and safety legislation. Like ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 it is a generic standard that can be applied to businesses of all sizes; it is based on the idea of embedding systems and processes, tailored to any business, that define how health and safety issues are managed across the business.

The standard promotes a safer working environment by heightening adherence to your health and safety policy and procedures at all levels of the organisation. As well as looking after the most valuable asset –employees – BS OHSAS 18001 gives potential clients assurance of effective risk management procedures and full regulatory compliance.

Environment Agency: The Waste (England and Wales) Regulation 2011

The EU Waste Framework Directive provides the legislative framework for the collection, transport, recovery and disposal of waste, and includes a common definition of waste. The directive requires all member states to take the necessary measures to ensure waste is recovered or disposed of without endangering human health or causing harm to the environment and includes permitting, registration and inspection requirements.
